False accusations

I have been accused by some people of finding too much useless but entertaining crap on the internet. I'd refute this claim if it wasn't, to a large extent, true. Its my most common form of procrastination, and I easily fall into doing it since most of my dissertation's research is web based. Google Scholar is easily the best tool available for finding journal articles, and has made researching a whole lot easier. However, since it works in a web browser, you're only ever a few clicks away from something that is not in the slightest bit work related, but infinitely more interesting.

Whilst attempting to do some of the aforementioned dissertation research today, I found this video. Its horribly wrong, since mammals should always come above insects in the food chain. Fact. Don't press play if you are particularly squeamish or have a soft spot for mice.

Peru, I believe, but Google pretty much only turns up results of them for sale. They go for a pretty penny!
Their full title is scolopendra gigantea robusta.

I have read all about them on Wikipedia. Apparently they have a nasty poisonous bite that causes the area bitten (on people) to swell up like a bastard.

Feel a bit sorry for the mouse to be honest.
